Busukai* 「Onna No Tsumi」
Makiko Mizokuchi(Peyoungmaki) known as directing and writing script for “Onna(woman)” series in theatrical group “Potsudoru” starts the new theatrical group “Busukai *” in 2010.

The theatrical group newly started in 2010 by Mizokuchi Makiko (Peyoungmaki), who is known as a directer and scripter for the special program “Onna(woman)” series (“Onnna No Michi/ The road of woman” in 2006, “Onnna No Hate/ The end of woman” in 2007) in theatrical group “Potsudoru” lead by Daisuke Miura. “Busukai*” came from “busu-kai” which is the name of the drinking session of girls enjoying ugly stuff such as sloppy talk and boasting (busu means ugly girl in Japanese). Each time, Peyoungmaki will gather various members who she likes and produce the play which gradually reveals the reality of woman.

Born in Nagasaki prefecture in 1976. In 1996, while studying at Waseda University, joined launch of the theatrical group “Potsudoru” lead by Daisuke Mirua. In 2000, the independent film “Hatsukoi” directed with Daisuke Miura won the jury’s special prize at 25th Pia Film Festival and grand prix at PFF in Kobe. From 2004, started directing adult films under the name of Peyoungmaki and on the other hand, started the “Onna” series in Potsudoru staring with “Onnna No Michi” in 2006 and “Onna No Hate” in 2007. Lately, writing serial article (every other week) on a magazine “Weekly SPA!”.

Toshio Kajiwara
Sound performance artist. Staring his original performance using record player and tape machine in New York from early 90s and went around the world as member of Christian Marclay Trio. From 1998, has been running an experimental event PHENOMENA, focusing on improvisation performance, at the contemporary live house TONIC in New York for 5 years. Also, has been working at the cult-ish secondhand record shop called A-1 Record Shop as a store manager for over 13 years.
After coming back to Japan in 2008, being in charge of director and music of a dance company BABY-Q and also performing DJ and live in the name of BING.

Yoko Higashino
Dancer and choreographer, the presidency of a dance company ‘BABY-Q’. Being awarded many dance awards such as Toyota Choreography Award etc. Performing many pieces at the theatre and alternative space and highly-acclaimed internationally and invited by many foreign festivals. As solo, collaborating with musicians such as Masaya Nakahara, DoraVideo, Keiji Haino performing improvisation sessions.
Apart from dance, running studio ‘BABY-Q Dance Lab’ and producing fashion and music label ‘FxAxQ’ and ‘HE?XION!’ releasing CDs and organizing events and expanding own field. www.baby-q.org

Is “ritual” serious?
As it says “untitled”, there is no title from the start and there for, no theme to follow. “Something is there” rather than “Do something there”.
The time will come. So we don’t decide.
Show the music and dance inscribed in one’s memory and accumulation with a certain “form” (=piece) every time…but, at the same time, we wait for the “discovery” beyond the fluctuation.
Why? Because there must be something we know deep inside our mind which we have been waiting for so long time.
“Ritual”, it is a “wish”.

It is a next step of Shoko Higashino from solo dance “MESs” performance in 2009, and the project that newly searches for the body expression and the creation method with her partner Toshio Kajiwara. “Blank” is left in not the improvisation session but the work strictly composed and a dramatic and high flexibility moment occur.

Memi Shinozaki
Born in Chiba prefecture, Japan. While in high school, joined Strange Kinoko Dance Co. with no special dance experience. Learned bodily expression mainly by self-study and entered Contemporary Dance Course in Nihon University College of Art. After the graduation, again joined Strange Kinoko Dance Co. and appeared on the rest of the stages. While having the expression beyond the technique by natural caliber, still has the junior temperament and tends to go buy senior associate’s meal.
